Can We Assure Mental Health Privacy in the Electronic Age?
Dr. Clemens is a training and supervising analyst at the Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center, and Emeritus Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University. He is a long-time member and past chair of the APsaA’s Committee on Government Relations and Insurance and the Committee on Confidentiality, in addition to being co-chair of the long-running APsaA discussion group on privacy and the implications of Jaffee v. Redmond U.S. Supreme Court decision.He is the author of “Resource Document on Documentation of Psychotherapy” for the American Psychiatric Association.Dr. Clemens will focus his comments on the fight for mental health privacy in the electronic age. In this timely lecture he will look at documentation, disclosure, electronic health records, and the Supreme Court.
