What is Psychoanalysis
Psychoanalytic treatment is based on the idea that people are frequently motivated by unrecognized wishes and desires that originate in their unconscious.
By listening to patient’s stories, fantasies, and dreams, as well as discerning how patients interact with others, psychoanalysts and psychodynamic psychotherapists offer a unique perspective that helps people to better understand themselves. In examining what lies beneath the surface of human behavior, psychoanalysis teaches about the unconscious psychological forces within us.
