CPC Board Announces New Course
Ingrid Geerken, Ph.D. will begin teaching a very exciting and innovative course, Psychoanalytic Imagination, open to all mental health professionals, including new candidates, early admission, and psychoanalytic psychotherapy students. The course starts on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Class size is limited. Please contact the Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center for an application and further information.
Dr. Geerken, Professor of English and psychoanalyst, provides the following description.
Psychoanalytic Imagination is an introduction to ways of experiencing the creativity of the unconscious and unconscious meanings. It is an interdisciplinary course that will examine psychoanalytic process as expressed in the consulting room and through cultural artifacts (film, narrative, poetry and sculpture). Throughout the course we will be attentive to the role of the body and of language in expressing unconscious fantasy. Works of art and literature will be read alongside classic and contemporary texts of psychoanalysis (Freud, Klein, Winnicott, Lacan, Ferro).Please call 216-229-5959 or email dmorsecpc@sbcglobal.net to request an application.
