Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center Presents Vera Camden, Ph.D.

On May 18, 2012 Vera Camden, Ph.D. will deliver a lecture entitled, "Harry Potter: A Touch of Evil and the Triumph of Love in Harry Potter."Vera Camden will be talking about trauma as parasite. She will discuss the role of skin in the parasitic relationship as the skin no longer protects the body but the skin encapsulates for trauma.  Victoria Todd, Child Analyst at the Hanna Perkins Center, will be Discussant.

 Vera J. Camden, Ph.D.Vera J. Camden is Professor of English at Kent State University, Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University and Clinical Professor of Social Work at Rutgers University. She is Training and Supervising Analyst at the Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center, a member of the Committee on Research and Special Training at the American Psychoanalytic Association, Co-editor of American Imago, and on the editorial board of The American Psychoanalyst and Bunyan Studies: A Journal of Reformation and Dissent.
Dr. Camden specializes in seventeenth-century British literature, psychoanalysis and literature, trauma studies, and children and young adult literature.
