Teletherapy gives us new avenue for individual psychotherapy. Today, I would like to propose that teletherapy is another way to enter psychoanalytic space and process in the therapeutic relationship with creativity, pain and pleasure. Teletherapy requires new integration of body and mind. It forces to prominence three elements of our daily work in the therapeutic relationships. They are: prosody, dreaming and enactment.

Objectives

1.      Participants will be able recognize the difference between working in person and using technology for a purpose of fostering therapeutic and psychoanalytic process in psychotherapies and in psychoanalysis.

2.      Participants will be to recognize explicitly what to pay attention to while in their clinical practice in telehealth.

Please read ahead in preparation for the workshop

Dr. Janicki would like participants to consider presenting cases in this workshop. If anyone is interested in presenting a case, please contact Dr. Janicki directly to discuss the case with her (phone: 216 229 7141; email: anna.janicki@case.edu). We expect there will be time for about 2-3 cases in addition to the cases she presents.
